Homecoming Week

It's Homecoming week everybody! Time to celebrate the return of our team home from a tough Iowa loss. Homecoming is a week of celebration and that magic time of year when the more "historic" state street bars gather revenue for the year like a squirrel collecting nuts before winter. Jokes aside, it's a really fun week for students and alumni. One of my favorite college experiences was riding in the parade. It's too bad that this year's homecoming has to be under such dire circumstances for the team. Where is Indiana when we need them?
Speaking of Indiana, what is Northwestern doing at #22 in the BCS standings? Is there a smugness factor in the BCS standings that I don't know about?
We need to win this Saturday or it's going to ruin that night's Yael Naim concert. If anyone needs me I'll be in the front starting the mosh pit.

What we need to celebrate is the firing of the existing football coach with a new one. This current team of badgers has layed and quit which is obvious in there play since the Michigan meltdown. A coaches job is to right the ship when things go bad. This is a veteran team that came into this season with high hopes. Is this not about talent or experience on the team but a complete meltdown of the coaching staff. Make a change now or face the likelihood of a program that will mirror those of the 70's, 80's, and early 90's. It already may be to late. In a few weeks we have become the laughing stock of the bigten. Already recruiting will suffer and the respect that took so long to earn will have use viewed as the doormat of the bigten.

part of the reason that NW is ranked in the top25 in the BCS is due to their defense, who came into last week ranked #1 in the big10...yes NW, the team that NEVER played defense. they have a new defensive coordinator over there with the last name of Hankowitz. if that name rings a bell, Bret fired him to bring in one of this buddies - just one of the many examples of lack of good judgement on the part of BB (ask any waitress or bev cart girl in Madison if you want more examples of bad judgement)...gotta go...

Well, Northwestern is proving that Pat Fitzgerald is a better former-Big-Ten-star-now-coach than Brett Bielema. Well, he was a certified bad ass when Northwestern with Darnell Autry was tearing through the Big Ten from 1994-1995.

I'm wondering if Wisconsin will be in ESPN's "Bottom Ten" this week.

Let's see if in this battle of mediocre coaches if we can come out on top.

Mr. Drunken Bum on State Street,

I'm sorry, I don't think I understand your language, so unfortunately I will be unable to give you the spare change out of my pocket. I know you said something, but it sounded like idiotic drunken rubbish that would come from the mouth of a hyena...

"what were you doing that homecoming parade you were...i bet you were a jackass"

Wait, wait, wait, did you say you are a jackass?
no, "i bet you were a jackass"

Bret Bielema, is that you?
"a jackass"
What are you doing outside State Street Brats drunk and sprawled out on the street?
"doing that homecoming parade"

Ohhh I got it now, Bret, you are a big man in Madison, a really big man, so I guess you can do it if you want to, but, I don't think it would be a good idea to ride a jackass down State Street in the homecoming parade. Plus sir, it's only Monday night and you have team that is looking up to you of young college women to "work out and right the ship" for the game if you know what I mean. (wink wink)

Mr. Bielema, you are just drunk and are not thinking straight at the moment. Let me call Union Cab, 242-2000 and get you home safely.

Bwahahahahahahahahahahaah! That was hilarious!

Bielema makes millions of dollars, fans bend over and pay the cash for Cal Poly and Wofford. (Do the players enjoy this? Maybe I'll go beat me up a kindergartener, see if it is fun). Jokes on the public who enjoys football in this one pony town.

One pony town? Please do not insult Monticello, WI in a diatribe about Bret Bielema. (though I do think that they have drunks puking in the bathroom stalls at the Boar's Nest and the Raven, too)

BB stands for Bret Bielema? Bye-Bye? Buck Bret? Barfing Bret? Beautiful Babes? (who Bret pays more attention to than next week's opponent)

I vote for Bye-Bye....

Smug? We haven't earned the right to be smug. And if you are comparing "classiness" in fans, I'd just remember to step away from your glass house.

Hey - can we get a new poll? WHO should be the next coach of the Badgers? Darrell Bevell? Tim Krumrie? Jeff Jagodzinski? Skip Holtz? Lane Kiffin? Tommy Bowden? Bobby Petrino? Kelly, from Cincy? Pat Hill?

Other names???

How about Rick Nueheusel? He was born in Madison when his folks were at UW, has family in Tomah (or up in that direction), and I'm sure he could find enough NCAA pools to get into around March Madness time! Of course we'd have to pry him away from UCLA....
Seriously, how about Paul Christ? St. Alvarez bypassed him for Bret the Town Drunk.

I will be at the game, Madison is always a good time.

Gee-you guys are really original-did you do this so your mommy could brag that Junior has his own website? Or maybe so it will look good on your resume? Booooring.....ZZZZZZ

I'll say one thing about this website...it definitely lit a fire under the sportswriters in this town. Very important step. For all those defending Bielema and mad and or mocking this website, just go pay your money for bad college football and enjoy bitching about this website (it's your right). Other people who are tired of being mugged for crap football and Cal Poly shakedowns I commend you for enjoying real college football.

Wisconsin is the only big ten team to beat a ranked non conference opponent dont forget that. Bielema beat # 21 Fresno State on the road and thats a tough place to win at

what's your point, that Wisconsin can't beat any of the other bad Big Ten Teams....teams that can't beat anyone else

Wisconsin is the only Big Ten team to defeat a ranked opponent. That was back in September. Currently Fresno State is still unranked, just like the Badgers of Wisconsin.

The same Badgers who gave up a 19 point lead to a mediocre Michigan team. The same Badgers who choked at the end of the Ohio State game. The same Badgers who rolled over for Penn State and Iowa.

They managed to come up big against Illinois, but now that there is nothing to gain or lose at this point, I'm sure you will see the Badgers hit their stride, as they have always done.

I laugh whenever anyone comments about Wisconsin's classy fans--I keep thinking of the days when I was part of the jackassery in the student section. It was fun at the time, but in retrospect, it was pretty classless and petty.
