The Big Ten bowl season is over with a disappointing 1-6 record. I really wanted Ohio State to beat Texas. When the bowls start, Big Ten pride takes precedent over any partisan interests. Plus, I really have no particular fondness for Texas, especially after they beat us in hoops with a banked in 3. Take notice, that other than Iowa, the two best performances were by Ohio State and Northwestern. I am dreading the sight of Terrelle Pryor breaking off 25 yard scrambles at-will against us next year. Northwestern put up a good fight and managed to stifle Chase Daniels and the Mizzou offense for most of the game. Didn't Northwestern's defensive coordinator lead the 2006 Badger's defense? Oh yeah, he did, and then Bret fired him.
As for the Badger's assistant coaches this year, Bret acted in accordance with approximately 1/3 of the votes in our poll. As of today, he is making no major changes to the coaching staff. This is an interesting comparison between the Badgers and Packers coaching changes. In Green Bay, the heads are rolling, and even the Strength and Conditioning Coordinator is looking for a new job.
Finally, I was chagrined to read that Bielema received a $140,000 bonus for leading the Badgers to the Champs Sports Bowl given that he was paid $50,000 for the Capital One Bowl two years ago. This past season and the bowl debacle are not the type of performance this bonus was designed to reward. However, Bret has every right to that money as it is a negotiated part of his contract, but I would still love to read that the money is going to the Salvation Army or some other charity.

Bret, how can you even consider keeping the $140,000 for that humiliating loss you engineered at the Champs Sports Bowl? You should be fined $140,000 (or more) by the UW Athletic Department!
Never have truer words been written!
thats quite possibly the stupidest thing i have ever heard? thats like saying you do your job good enough to get a christmas bonus and then because the people who work below you didnt do as well as possible, you should give up your christmas bonus.
unbelievable.
"Barry Alvarez is the third-highest-paid AD among major colleges at a base salary of $750,000. His pay after five years is $102,000 more than his next-closest Big Ten AD - Ohio State's Gene Smith is paid $648,000 to manage the largest athletic department in terms of sports (36) and budget ($115.4 million) in the nation — and is more than $300,000 more the median salary for ADs in the six Bowl Championship Series conferences."
WOW! It makes you wonder why we don't have a baseball team!
Bret needs to be fired. he is going down hill fast. I partially blame Barry for hiring him. Barry hired Bret bc he didnt want to get shown up. A big name coach signing would have taken away form his legacy and his 3/4 of a million salary.
Bret has shown repeatedly that he can not get his players to step up when it counts.

who ever wrote this is a moron, bret didnt coach well all season, and yes it is his job to bring out the best in his players. Whether it is pep talks of blowjobs it is his responsibility to find a way to improve the play of his players and his team.
Badgers were luckily land in the toilet bowl and Bret got paid a nice bonus for it.
Fire him! Bring in the utah coach.
Obviously Barry is going to give BB and his band of coaching all stars one more year to prove its collective pudding (i.e. no coaching changes).
I can just hear the conversation...
Barry - "I am too busy polishing my statue to hire a new coach this year, how about one more year. By the way, I love that 80's retro badger pullover you wear over your Iowa jersey on game days, where can I get one?".
BB - "Wouldn't you like to know. I bought a vacation house in Iowa City with my bowl bonus. I wish I would have taken the endorsement deal with Kia instead of Chevy, I cannot afford my body guards anymore. I hope sending Dustin to Tony Romo's QB camp this summer pays off".
There's going to a lot of critism of Bob Stoops after he couldn't quite get the win in the National Championship game last night. (Go to www.firebobstoops.com.) Barry, throw Bob a life line to help him avoid all the cheep shots from sports writers and the Oklahoma fans. Give Stoops a BIG OFFER to coach Wisconsin, and FIRE Bret Bielema! (Just pay Bret off and be done with him once and for all.) Then bonus Bob $4 million for winning the national championship for the Badgers ($2 million if he gets UW in the game). I figure with his exceptional recruiting, it shouldn't take Bob more than 3-4 years. And should he get UW in the national championship game, Alumni will be glad to help pay the lion's share of that bonus!!! (We can start the fund raising now.)
I'll commit $1,000 right now!!!!!
Bret's got to go. I'm "in" too for a grand! Let's make this happen.
ever notice that BB looks an awful lot like Ryan Leif
make that Ryan Leaf
rumor has it that Barry is leaving UW at year's end
apparently the new chancellor doesn't appreciate Barry's afterglow
can he take that hideous phallic statue in front of camp randall with him to Florida?
BB will be looking for work as soon as Barry goes bye-bye
So Biddy is going to run both of those schmucks out of town; I knew she was a good hire! This university can do much better on BOTH accounts!
Biddy gonna saddle up and cruise on down to the UW Athletic offices and she gonna assume the position of the big mamma chancellor. She gonna strap it on and then she gonna lay some pipe on ol' Barry and Bret. You go Biddy, ride them carpet munchers right out of town and clean up this house! Sistah power gonna save the Badgers!
There was a story on madison.com, about Badgers pretending they tried to schedule Texas. Fans knew it was bogus...never seen an article yanked that fast before. Please tell me it's true Alvarez is leaving. Awesome coach. World's worst administrator.
Where is the media on exposing the bs surrounding the so called match with Texas? When the seats are empty for the Wofford game next year, 7 home games won't matter. Too much money and too many egos in college football. Let's fill Camp Randall with Gin and have a party--use the proceeds to further education. Just ranting
Has anyone actually seen or heard from BB in the past couple of weeks? I've heard from insiders in Madison that BB might not even be in town - and might be spending a little time at a specialized retreat, at the orders of BA. You insert the reasons why.....
if he comes back twenty pounds lighter you might be on to something
there is a coach's cruise in about 3 weeks, so those in attendance can judge if BB is on/off the wagon
Hire Jon Gruden!
HAs anyone heard about Bielema being pulled of the bus on the way home from the Iowa game this year because he was belligerantly drunk?
Who else is AMPED that we gave him a one year extension!?!?!? Thank god, I'm sure some top name programs were just chomping at the bit for a chance to land him
nice 48th ranked recruiting class
the spin on this class is interesting, especially with Appleton slipping in at the last minute
still need a QB, and suddenly Curt Phillips is a nice backup for Budmayr
either way, if Sherer is the starter next year, my tix will be on stubhub before labor day
Prophetstown FIB Bret was anointed by Bovine Dairy Barry to continue his legacy. Just because Bret's a FIB you open this evil website against him. FIBS should destroy you ungrateful Weasels, for all of Bret's FIB worshippers South of the Cheese Curtain. I hope Coach Kill and his MAC Huskies smack you with a FIB lesson on 9/5/9. You should be grateful for FIB Obama !
BB is one of the shittiest coaches in major college football right now. I have never been a believer in him even is his record setting first season. It looks like 2009 will be a spin off of 2008. Lost last week to ohio state and basically gave them the game and now this week looked completely unprepared against iowa. I'm guessing they will lose to northwestern, purdue, and michigan. Get ready for another mediocre season badger fans.
